ABOUT THE GRAND RAPIDS
SPORTS HALL OF FAME
Originally founded by the Grand Rapids City Commission in 1972, The Grand Rapids Sports Hall of Fame
honors athletes, owners, and coaches from West Michigan who have
achieved prominence in their sports on a local, state, or national
level.
The
Sports Hall of Fame was reestablished in 1995 and is now housed on
the upper deck of the Van Andel Arena. To date, there have been 110 inductees to the GRSHOF, based on participation
at the professional, semiprofessional, amateur or collegiate level,
and subsequent contribution to civic life.
WHAT
WE SUPPORT
Funds generated by the Grand Rapids
Sports Hall of Fame and its sponsored activities are donated
to support local youth sports organizations.
