ABOUT THE GRAND RAPIDS

SPORTS HALL OF FAME

Originally founded by the Grand Rapids City Commission in 1972, The Grand Rapids Sports Hall of Fame honors athletes, owners, and coaches from West Michigan who have achieved prominence in their sports on a local, state, or national level.

The Sports Hall of Fame was reestablished in 1995 and is now housed on the upper deck of the Van Andel Arena. To date, there have been 110 inductees to the GRSHOF, based on participation at the professional, semiprofessional, amateur or collegiate level, and subsequent contribution to civic life.

WHAT WE SUPPORT

Funds generated by the Grand Rapids Sports Hall of Fame and its sponsored activities are donated to support local youth sports organizations.
